International Yoga Day

 


International Yoga Day 21st June 2019 was celebrated by the students and teacher at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Nirjuli  to imbibe the value of discipline and aware the students to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration with great enthusiasm .The gracious presence of Su. Aparna Palkar Secretary VKVAPT, Sri S.C. Dixit Education Officer VKVAPT created the ambiance of the program more vibrant. The students got the chance to know how yoga embodies unity of mind and body. VKV Nirjuli NSS unit under the program officer Sri Sanjay Kr. Yadav played the key role to emblazon the program of the day.  Sri Krishna Kumar Mishra, VKV Nirjuli addressed the assembly about the importance of yoga to keep us physically fit, mentally healthy and spiritually awakened to say no to ailments. He reckoned many benefits of early rising and practicing yoga. Speaking to the assembly he also pointed out that how yoga helps students to memorize something and understand a concept and its context. The huge assembly of 1126 students of classes IV- XII with the teachers performed Yoga between 9 am to 10 am. Warm up excercises were taken and Different sitting and standing asanas like Vrikshasana, Uttaanaasana, Trikonaasana, Bhadrasana, Shashankaasana, Bhujangasana, Pawana Muktaasana, importance of these were explained simultaneously ,Yoga practices finally ended with Pranayama and meditation.

   Making the day more informative and sensational the school has kept some house competitions like Speech, Quiz and Drawing. The classes VI-VII group A and IX-XII group B participated in quiz and speech on the theme ‘An invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition’. The primary students IV-V participated in drawing competition on the theme ‘Yoga and Daily Life’. The celebration was concluded with synchronized recitation of shlokas and shanti mantra.
